Our favourite type of gallery wall is the Salon Hang- it's meandering yet ordered, with space to grow and showcase your own story, character and taste.
Tips:
- Choose a colour theme
- Include Objects
- Anchor with the Largest Piece (and layout on the floor)
- Make the gaps consistent
1. Choose a Colour Theme
If you're stuck, this really helps. With a colour theme, unrelated pieces come into harmony and you have a guide of what to look for.

2. Include Objects
Bring stories and history to your wallsby including sentimental objects. They also add different shapes, depth and texture.
3. Anchor with the Largest Piece (and layout on the floor).
Gather what you're starting with and lay it out on the floor. Here, you can easily move pieces around until it feels balanced. Then take a photo of your layout, hang one piece on the wall, and work out from there.
4. Make the Gaps Consistent
This tip is the least romantic but still my favourite - keep the gaps consistent. Imagine the space between each piece as a maze and make sure that the path stays the same width (most of the time).
With uneven gaps it's messy, with even gaps it's calm.
